Heart to Home Events is searching for creative and detail-oriented candidates who have an interest in wedding and event planning. They should posses excellent verbal and written communication skills, be outgoing and creative. The planning assistant intern will gain fundamental experience in wedding + event planning and execution. Will work on projects requiring organization, creativity, and problem solving skills. The intern will work both in the office on administrative work, onsite on event days and attend client meetings to provide exposure to each facet of wedding and event planning. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School or equivalent required. No other education is required, however currently pursuing a degree in Hospitality, marketing, business, communications or other relevant fields or experience is preferred.

  • Applicants must be 18+ 

  • Availability on the weekends 

  • Flexibility with schedule 

  • Own personal laptop 

  • Reliable transportation

  • Physical work; lifting, pushing, carrying, walking constantly, climbing stairs, etc. 

  • Eager to learn 

  • Reliable 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of google docs  

  • Strong writing skills is a plus for blogs and content creation

  • Maintaining focus to one task at a time but also the ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from various jobs 

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to problem solve and think on the fly 

  • Ability to work under stressful situations and able to jump in and help when needed

  • Detail oriented and quicky able to fix problems

  • Professional demeanor and confidentiality 

  • Professionalism when working with all clients, vendors guests and staff. 

RESPONSIBLITIES 

  • Support the lead planner, help plan wedding and events which can include any of the following; preparing reports and budgets, drafting emails and letters, design plans, telephone inquires, timelines and general office work 

  • Coordinate with vendors during event planning & event execution 

  • Maintain client and vendor correspondence 

  • Communicate with potetional clients and set meetings 

  • Attend client, vendor and venue meetings with staff  

  • Assist with event execution from start to finish (Set up ceremony items, candles, escort cards, centerpieces, favors, chargers, communicate with vendors onsite, be ready and available to assist the bride, groom, and/ or bridal party etc)

  • with their preparations before, during and after the wedding 

  • Work to develop and implement marketing ideas 

  • Organizing office information 

  • Assist with creating, writing and publishing  blogs and social media content 

  • Propose new ideas and suggestions about improvements to events

  • Working hours and location? 

    • Working hours and days will vary but on average 10-15 hours a week ​(this does not include event days) You will have notice of all meetings and weekly schedules well in advance 

  • Will I be paid? 

    • If applying for internship, no, this is an unpaid internship 

    • If applying for part time position, yes you will be paid an hourly wage

  • Is there any charges while working for you? 

    • It should not cost you any money to work with us. There are no charges or cost involved. ​
